This cookie notice explains how inkbloom.life uses cookies and similar storage. Mei runs the site as a personal blog without analytics pixels, social trackers, or advertising networks in the page templates.

Essential storage is required for the site to remember your consent choice. Without it, the banner would reappear on every page load. Essential cookies cannot be switched off from the panel; they are always on.

Functional / embedded content covers Google Maps iframes. When you allow this category, neighbourhood maps load on each page. When you reject it, a quiet placeholder appears with a Load map button that grants functional consent for that page view only.

Analytics is listed for honesty even though this pack ships without third-party analytics scripts. The toggle defaults off and remains off unless you explicitly enable it during Customise. No analytics scripts are loaded in this build.

The primary cookie name is sg_blog_consent. Its value is JSON, URL-encoded, with fields: essential (always true), functional (true or false), analytics (true or false), ts (ISO timestamp), and v (version number, currently 1).

A mirror copy is written to localStorage under cookie_consent_v1 whenever you save a choice. Both stores use a max-age of about six months (15552000 seconds). On HTTPS connections the Secure attribute is added. SameSite is Lax.

Accept all enables functional cookies so maps load normally. Reject all keeps functional and analytics off; maps stay blocked until you tap Load map once per page. Customise opens a panel where functional and analytics toggles move independently before you tap Save choices.

After any choice, a hard refresh should not bring the banner back within the six-month window unless you cleared site data or simulated expiry in DevTools.

The Manage cookies button on this page re-opens the panel with your saved state reflected in the toggles. Saving a new choice overwrites the old one in both the cookie and localStorage.

Google Maps embeds use a standard shareable embed URL without an API key. When a map loads, Google may set its own cookies or use local storage under its policies. Blocking functional cookies prevents that third-party set unless you manually load a map.

You can clear cookies through browser settings: Chrome → Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data; Firefox → Settings → Privacy → Cookies; Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data. After clearing, the banner returns on your next visit.

This site does not respond to Do Not Track signals with a separate mode because it already minimises tracking by design. Optional categories remain optional.

The banner is a bottom strip, never a blocking full-screen modal. It should not permanently cover footer links. All controls are reachable by keyboard and show visible focus rings.

If JavaScript is unavailable, the site still reads as plain HTML. No non-essential category is treated as accepted without an explicit choice when scripts run.

Retention is about six months, not forever. After that window the banner may return so you can confirm your choice again.
